Composite Hoses

Plasticoat manufactures and supplies a comprehensive range of composite hose for use in the chemical and petrochemical industry.  Our hoses offer strength, lightweight flexibility and versatility.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR ALL PLASTICOAT COMPOSITE HOSE TYPES.

• All hoses can be rope lagged. It is necessary to specify this at time of ordering.
• Composite hoses are not suitable for certain substances. A chemical compatibility chart is available on request.
• Due to the nature of the construction of composite hose and the often hazardous conveyants used, it is strongly recommended that all hoses and fittings be supplied to the user as fitted assemblies.
• A wide range of fittings can be supplied such as camlocks, BSP fittings, flanges etc. Other special couplings for unusual applications can also be supplied.
• Statlock couplings designed for use in the oil industry are available. This coupling has positive connection for both inside and outside wires to the OUTSIDE of the coupling. The wires are secured with two grub screws and both wires can be visually checked to be secured to the anchor blocks by externally examining the couplings. Both wires can be checked for electrical continuity by external tests without disconnecting the hose. The electrical connection is not in contact with the conveyant and there is no restriction in bore of fitting to create turbulence or restriction of product flow.

Petrolmaster Range

The Petrolmaster range is designed specifically for the demands of the petro-chemical industry. The polypropylene film and fabric construction handle hydrocarbon based products. The internal and external wire helixes deliver the pressure handling characteristics and a tough PVC coated fabric forms the outer cover.

Temperature Rating for all Petrolmaster products is -20°C to +80°C.

APPLICATIONS This hose is suitable for use with bitumen up to 180°C. Manufactured from polyester film and fabric designed for high temperature operation, this hose is ideal for the transfer of hot bitumen via gravity, suction or pressure. It is ideally suited for road tanker loading and discharge, in plant transfer, spraying and spray bar applications. This hose is also suitable for conveying high aromatic content fuels. Internal wire : galvanised steel. External wire : galvanised steel. Temperature Rating: -20°C to +180°C NOTE: This Hose is not recommended for use close to direct external radiant heat as the cover is not flame retardant. Hoses should be flushed with diesel or kerosene after use. Cleaning with steam or direct external heat is not recommended.
